ABSTRACT: This research explores the organization of trade fairs as a means to support the internationalization of businesses, focusing on La Fiera del Levante. Despite various corporate challenges, this fair has remained a key reference point for the national economy. Through a historical case study approach, the analysis examines the economic and business dynamics that shaped the institution from its formal establishment to the retrospective evaluation of its first edition. By situating trade fairs within the broader context of commercial practices, this study contributes to the understanding of their strategic role over time, offering a basis for further research on their instrumental use in economic history. The analysis was built considering the institutional theory as primary theoretical lens to collect relevant theoretical and practical insights about the interlinkages between different institutional logics.
